Special Programs

Reidy Park Primary School has a diverse population, and includes students from non-english speaking backgrounds, Indigenous Students, Students with Disabilities, students with behavioural concerns and students with learning difficulties.

We are proud of the programs we offer all students.

Well trained and highly effective School Services Officers are employed to implement specific programs to support each child’s needs, overseen by the Deputy Principal.

Class teachers prepare Individual Learning Plans, in consultation with student's families, to develop very specific learning goals for students with special needs. These learning goals direct learning for students in the classroom and also for when they are withdrawn individually or to work in groups with SSO support.

Reidy Park Primary School intervention programs focus on Literacy, Numeracy and Social & Emotional Learning. Programs include Rocket Reading, Jolly Phonics, Phonological Awareness, Concepts of Print and Language/Speech support. Regular testing and assessment completed by teachers assists in identifying students who are in need of support.

Negotiated Education Plans are prepared annually for Students with Disabilities in keeping with DECD requirements.
